Plan Tucson is excited to announce the preliminary draft of the Plan Tucson 2025 General Plan Update is now available for public review and feedback.

During this event, you'll get an overview of the draft plan, have the chance to ask questions, and learn how to provide your feedback this winter.

Plan Tucson 2025 is a comprehensive 10-year strategy for guiding Tucson’s growth and development. It addresses key areas such as environmental planning, cultural heritage, land use, transportation, parks, safety, economic development, water resources, and housing.

The draft plan, shaped by extensive community input, is organized into five chapters:

  1. Introduction: Scope and development process.
  2. Current Landscape: Tucson’s context and history.
  3. Vision, Goals, and Policies: 14 community goals and 186 policies.
  4. Future Growth and Development: Includes the Future Growth Scenario Map and design guidelines.
  5. Implementation: Functional plans and projects to achieve the Plan’s goals.

There are several ways for you to engage with the Plan Tucson team and provide feedback on the 2025 Preliminary Draft.

Meeting-in-a-Box (Group Engagement)

Host a discussion with friends, family, or community members to review and provide feedback. Choose one or both formats:

  • Values, Goals, and Policies: Focus on any of the 14 goals and associated policies.
  • Future Growth Scenario Map: Review draft growth patterns and provide map feedback through an online survey

Online Surveys (Individual Engagement)

Explore the preliminary draft at your own pace and provide feedback through surveys:

  • Overview and Implementation [Chapters 1, 2, and 5]: These chapters cover the plan overview, history of Tucson, characterization of Tucson today, and plan implementation.
  • Values, goals and policies [Chapter 3]: This chapter covers the fourteen goals and associated policies of in the draft plan. Provide feedback on as many goals as you like.
  • Future Growth Scenario Map [Chapter 4]: This Chapter focuses on the draft map depicting future growth patterns and development guidelines for the City.
