Stacie Schaner serves as a Tucson Police Department Assistant Chief, overseeing the Special Services & Innovation Bureau, since February 2026. Prior to that, she was assigned as the Patrol Services Bureau Assistant Chief in September 2024. As a captain, she oversaw the Community Engagement Division (responsible for the police department’s outreach units), the Emergency Management Section, and the community-based violence intervention program. Previous assignments throughout her career include serving as the Executive Officer, Downtown Entertainment District commander, in the Office of Professional Standards and Human Resources, on the Rapid Response Team, and in a variety of patrol assignments. Assistant Chief Schaner serves as a board member for La Frontera and Homicide Survivors, Inc.
Assistant Chief Schaner holds a bachelor’s degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona and will soon complete a Master of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego. She has attended the Senior Management Institute for Policing, University of Chicago Crime Lab Policing Leadership Academy, and various University of Arizona Eller College of Business leadership programs.
As the mother of a teenaged daughter, Assistant Chief Schaner juggles personal and professional responsibilities while engaging in community activities.
