This classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. • Answers, evaluates, and routes incoming calls including but not limited to non-emergency 3-1-1, emergency 9-1-1, administrative, City departments, partner agencies, and general public inquiries.
• Determines caller's need and location, verifies and obtains event information, and provides instructions pre-arrival of law enforcement, Fire, and/or EMS services.
• Receives, coordinates, and disseminates critical information from and to multiple sources/resources based on published protocols and defined standards.
• Interacts with 911 centers/PSAPs in the region to facilitate and coordinate public safety emergency response for public safety services and transfers calls based on Jurisdiction.
• Utilizes geographical and real time maps to identify and track public safety units’ location and safety, find alternate routes, and monitor change in scene or caller activity.
• Coordinates emergency response by communicating with public safety units via Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD system and two-way radio; documents critical event information.
• Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
