Operation Splash June 15 through mid-September

Protecting the traveling public on City streets during Tucson’s Monsoon Season is the objective of Operation Splash. As weather patterns shift to bring moisture into Tucson, crews from the Streets Maintenance Division deliver barricades to hundreds of dip crossings throughout the City.

Hi Corbett Field Parking Lot at Reid Park - 700 S Randolph Way, 85711 (East Parking Lot)

24/7 Self Serve Station to begin Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Sand and bags are provided at the location, bring your own shovel.
Sand is available on a first come, first served basis and will be restocked ahead of the next forecasted storm.
Sand bags available until the Operation Splash Program concludes in mid-September.

  • During Operation Splash, City crews are on-call day and night to assist with placing barricades at flooded washes and dip crossings. After the floodwater recedes, Street Maintenance crews begin evaluating conditions of the roadway and remove any accumulation of hazardous debris.
  • Motorists, we ask you please do not drive through a flooded wash. You do not know how deep the water is, or what condition the roadway is in under the water. Turn Around, Don't Drown!
