Your Commercial/Industrial Water Bill

Learn about recent amendments to the commercial and industrial rate structures adopted by Mayor and Council on October 17th, 2023.

About Your Usage

Tucson Water customers often use more water during warmer months of the year. To encourage lower water usage, usage during these warmer months that exceeds your winter average consumption (WAC) is charged using a summer surcharge.

This seasonal pricing model shows the average use taken from December through February to determine base use.

Volumetric Charges

Your rate is an inclining block rate structure where the customer is charged based on a uniform rate for 3 months of the year (December – February) and are subject to two surcharge rate tiers during the summer months (March – November).  Usage during the months of December through February is used to determine each customer’s Winter Average Consumption (WAC).  During summer months, when usage exceeds a customer’s WAC, that portion of consumption between 101% and 145% of WAC is billed at a higher rate per unit (CCF) as shown below.  Usage over 145% of WAC is then charged at an even higher rate (block 3).
