Thanks to Proposition 407 bond funding and development impact fees, McCormick Park will soon receive a new 8’-wide multiuse walking path, nine new benches, a new and expanded irrigation system, 43 new trees, lighting enhancements and a community garden. Parks and Recreation collaborated with Tucson Clean and Beautiful to host a community tree planting event on April 12, and we’re working with Community Gardens of Tucson to build out and program the community garden. If you’re interested in reserving a spot in the community garden, please reach out to admin@communitygardensoftucson.org.
The park is fully reopened as we wrap-up remaining improvements.
Irrigation improvements, the multiuse path and tree installation are complete. Lighting improvements are forthcoming, and new benches are on backorder but will be set on their concrete pads when they arrive mid-June.
For details on the park improvements, visit the Tucson Delivers park project website below.
