El Pueblo Activity Center and Senior Center

Temporary Closure

The Activity Center is closed due to the AVAC not working and temperatures being too high. There is no estimated date for reopening. Check back for updates.

The center will be closed for cleaning from Aug. 31-Sept. 5. The gym will remain closed Aug. 24-29 for maintenance on the wood floors.

Regional Center

The El Pueblo Activity Center, Senior Center, Neighborhood Center, and pool are a part of the Richard Ortiz Barker Regional Complex located in El Pueblo Park.

Center Fees

Daily, quarterly and annual passes are available (Discount Program is available for passes)

Daily Users: A Court Pass is required to utilize indoor courts (including spectators). If you do not already have one, bring a picture ID to the front desk staff to create an account. Membership pass holders do not need a "Court Pass."

Individuals must be 7 years or older to be in the facility, unless accompanied by an adult.

Monday-Friday in June and July: Youth ages 11 and under must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times until 2PM, Ages 7+ are permitted for drop-in after 2 p.m.

Weight Room

Participants must complete an orientation class before using fitness room equipment
Participants ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult when taking an orientation class
Participants ages 14 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult who has completed an orientation class
Weight Room Orientation Video - A release form must be completed at the recreation center acknowledging that you have watched the video.

Open Recreation

Richard Ortiz Barker Regional Complex

The Richard Ortiz Barker Regional Complex houses the El PuebloActivity Center, Senior Center, Neighborhood Center, and the El Pueblo Pool. Richard Barker worked for the City of Tucson Parks and Recreation Department for approximately 39 years. During his tenure, Mr. Barker worked to improve the quality of life for the neighborhood and community within southwest Tucson. His accomplishments include working with neighborhood residents, numerous community agencies, City departments, and local officials to expand the El Pueblo Neighborhood Center from its original 5 buildings to the larger complex it is today.
