Operation Splash June 15 through mid-September
Protecting the traveling public on City streets during Tucson’s Monsoon Season is the objective of Operation Splash. As weather patterns shift to bring moisture into Tucson, crews from the Streets Maintenance Division deliver barricades to hundreds of dip crossings throughout the City.

24/7 Self Serve Station to begin Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Sand and bags are provided at the location, bring your own shovel. Sand is available on a first come, first served basis and will be restocked ahead of the next forecasted storm. Sand bags available until the Operation Splash Program concludes in mid-September.
