About Your Water Usage

About 80% of single-family households use an average of 10 CCF (7,480 gallons) or less each month. To encourage water conservation, rates are priced at a higher price per unit when customers use more water per month.

Components of Your Water Bill

Monthly Service Charge

This monthly fee recovers the cost of meter reading, maintenance, and replacement, billing, pipeline maintenance, and public fire protection. It is charged regardless of the amount of water used.

Multi-Family

A customer classification consisting of more than three (3) residential units served by one (1) master meter

  • Incorporated: $3.82/CCF
  • Unincorporated: $4.55/CCF

Sub-Metered Mobile Home

A mobile home park classified as a multi-family customer that utilizes sub-meters to separately meter and bill each user within the mobile home park

  • Incorporated: $2.86/CCF
  • Unincorporated: $3.40/CCF

Water Supply Fee

This $1.25 fee charged per CCF helps fund Tucson Water's investment in water resources like purchasing from the Central Arizona Project.

Conservation Fee

This $0.15 fee charged per CCF funds our conservation efforts. Learn more about our Conservation program.

Green Stormwater Infrastructure Fee

This $0.15 fee is charged per CCF and funds the Storm to Shade program that installs and maintains green stormwater infrastructure (GSI). This only applies to residents inside Tucson city limits. Learn more about GSI.

Taxes

Taxes are charged based on the municipality that customers live in and are not revenues of Tucson Water. The total tax charged is based on a combination of State, County, and local municipal tax rates as outlined below.

Adopted Rates and Fees Adjustment

On May 19, 2026, the City of Tucson approved an adjustment to water rates and fees for FY 2027-2030. The updated rates and fees will take effect July 6, 2026.
