Marlene Avelino is first generation Mexican American, a mother to two young children, and a firm believer in radical empathy. Her background is in political organizing with an emphasis in political education and engaging marginalized communities in the electoral process. Previously to that she worked 15 years in the service industry, learning the invaluable skills involved in meeting and serving people from all walks of life. In her spare time, she enjoys resting.
