November 4, 2025 General and Special Election

 

The November 4, 2025, City General and Special Election will be conducted as a consolidated Vote by Mail election administered by Pima County. Every active registered voter in the City of Tucson will receive a mail ballot, regardless of whether or not they are on the Active Early Voting List (AEVL).

For information relating to early and mail ballot voting, please visit the Pima County Recorder's Office at https://www.recorder.pima.gov/RecorderHome. The City of Tucson’s seven (7) Voting Locations will still be in effect for the General Election.

GENERAL ELECTION

The ballot for the General Election, which will be held on November 4, 2025, contains the names of the candidates for the offices of Council Members for Wards 3, 5, and 6. ALL qualified electors residing within the city limits (regardless of City Ward or party affiliation) may vote for ALL offices.

SPECIAL ELECTION

There is one Proposition on the ballot, Proposition 417. All qualified electors of the City of Tucson

What City Ward do I Live In?


IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES TO KNOW:

  • Candidates and potential candidates must file a Candidate Statement of Interest form with the City Clerk’s Office not later than the date of the first nomination petition signature.
  • Candidates who wish to participate in the City of Tucson Public Matching Funds program must sign a contract with the City Clerk’s Office within 30 days of becoming a candidate.

How the Mayor and Council are Elected

Council Members are nominated by the ward they wish to represent in the primary election and are elected to the city council at-large in the general election. The Mayor is elected by the voters at-large.

The Mayor and Council Members for Wards 1, 2, and 4 are elected in the same year, while Council Members for Wards 3, 5, and 6 elect their Council Members in the same year.

Elections occur every two years, and the Mayor and Council Members serve four-year terms. There are no term limits for these elected officials.
