This May, the City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services Department (PDSD) joins the International Code Council (ICC) in celebrating the 45th Annual Building Safety Month. Building Safety Month highlights the importance of adopting and updating building codes to ensure safe living and working environments for everyone. It is also a time to recognize the dedicated professionals who enforce these standards throughout the year.
This year's theme is "Game On!" with the goal of making everyone a member of the building safety "team." It is a reminder that properly constructed and maintained buildings require teamwork between residents, professionals, and officials.
Throughout the month, PDSD invites Tucson residents to learn about building safety fundamentals and share resources provided by the ICC with their communities. Join us as we kick off Building Safety Month 2025 and embrace the "Game On!" spirit.
The International Code Council provides codes, standards, and solutions to promote safe, affordable, and sustainable buildings and communities. For more information about Building Safety Month, visit the ICC's website.
