Environmental Services Fees Sewer / Wastewater Rates
About 80% of single-family households use an average of 10 CCF (7,480 gallons) or less each month. To encourage water conservation, rates are priced at a higher price per unit when customers use more water per month.
This monthly fee recovers the cost of meter reading, maintenance, and replacement, billing, pipeline maintenance, and public fire protection. It is charged regardless of the amount of water used.
5/8 inches is the most common meter size.

Multi-Family: a customer classification consisting of more than three (3) residential units served by one (1) master meter
Charge per CCF: $3.74
Sub-Metered Mobile Home: a mobile home park classified as a multi-family customer that utilizes sub-meters to separately meter and bill each user within the mobile home park
Charge per CCF: $2.80
This $1.00 surcharge charged per CCF funds the cost of water purchased from the Central Arizona Project.

This $0.13 fee is charged per CCF and funds the Storm to Shade program that installs and maintains green stormwater infrastructure (GSI). This only applies to residents inside Tucson city limits. Learn more about GSI.
Taxes are charged based on the municipality that customers live in and are not revenues of Tucson Water. The total tax charged is based on a combination of State, County, and local municipal tax rates as outlined below.
On January 11, 2023, the City of Tucson Mayor and Council adopted a five-year rate plan that will increase rates each fiscal year through fiscal year 2027. The City’s fiscal year begins each July. This means that rates will update each year on the following dates:
