City Launches First Safe Sleeping Site – STAR Village

The City of Tucson is partnering with local nonprofits to create a safe, outdoor sleeping space for individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Community members can support the program by volunteering and donating through the Primavera Foundation. The pilot program will serve up to 25 individuals at any given time and be staffed continuously to ensure the property is safe and secure.

The City of Tucson Magistrates Merit Selection Commission is reviewing applications for reappointment of City Magistrate Alexandra Kate Bouchard Verenna. Public participation is welcome and encouraged from those who have had direct experience with the magistrate’s courtroom. All comments should be submitted in writing by 5 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27.
