Scam Alert: HCD is Not Asking for Payments by Phone

Housing & Community Development wants to make Tucson residents aware of a phone scam currently targeting individuals using a fake City government phone number. In these calls, the scammer may claim to represent HCD asking for a payment in order to apply for public housing or a Housing Choice Voucher.

Alerta de estafa: HCD no solicita pagos por teléfono

El Departamento de Vivienda y Desarrollo Comunitario (HCD) desea alertar a los residentes de Tucson sobre una estafa telefónica que actualmente tiene como objetivo a personas a las que se les llama utilizandoun número de teléfono falso de la Ciudad de Tucson. En estas llamadas, el estafador puede afirmar que representa al HCD y solicitar un pago para poder solicitar una vivienda pública o un vale de elección de vivienda.
